I am an eductator, a photographer, and a recovering academic, transplanted to Morehead, KY after more moves than I care to count. In my art, my most authentic inspiration emerges from our resilience in the face of human transience. My work, and my portraiture in particular, is an attempt to subvert that transience, to reshape a single point in time into a bridge that spans the gap of our isolation. In my linguistics research, I use experimental methodologies to examine the syntax of elliptical and information structural phenomena. I have presented my research at international conferences and have numerous publications in leading academic journals. I also have formal training as an English language instructor, with more than seven years experience.

I was born in Cañon City, Colorado, but spent most of my youth in the Pacific Northwest. Since then, I’ve lived a great many places, including South Korea, British Columbia, France, Chicago, Lebanon, and, for most of the past four years, Morehead, Kentucky. My passions beyond photography include cooking, hiking, cycling, and working on my VW.
